From the Boston Globe: Cassini's continued mission...
[These photos are amazing! - Paul]
NASA's Cassini spacecraft is now a nearly a year into its extended mission, called Cassini Equinox (after its initial 4-year mission ended in June, 2008). The spacecraft continues to operate in good health, returning amazing images of Saturn, its ring system and moons, and providing new information and science on a regular basis. The mission's name, "Equinox" comes from the upcoming Saturnian equinox in August, 2009, when its equator (and rings) will point directly toward the Sun. The Equinox mission runs through September of 2010, with the possibility of further extensions beyond that. Collected here are 24 more intriguing images from our ringed neighbor.

Marathon Monday
Once again, the third Monday of April is a holiday in Massachusetts, Patriots' Day, which coincides with the running of the Boston Marathon. The marathon route runs only a block away from our house. And once again our home base was from the house of church friends Dan, Robin, Ford, May, and Annie, who live right on the marathon route, two blocks from Mile 15.

More photos from the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. The trolley shown with the name "Desire" is New Orleans Public Service Car #832, the namesake from the Tennessee Williams' play "A Streetcar Named Desire".

Cub Scout Pack 135 Builds a Rocket Launcher
See How to Build a Water Rocket...
If you've ever dreamed about sending a rocket sky-high, you might be relieved to learn you don't have to mess with explosives to make one fly. If you put air under pressure, like in a tire, you can use it to propel an object upwards. Add water to the mix, and your rocket will go far above the trees. This rocket is made from simple PVC plumbing pipe and some plastic soda bottles. It's easy to put together in an afternoon. As long as you always have an adult around, launching your rocket is safe and fun.
