Neurotechnology Forum

Next Wednesday June 4 I will be moderating a Massachusetts Medical Development Group (MDG) forum titled What's New in Selected Fields: Neuroscience and Neurotechnology. We have a great panel of cutting-edge researchers, entrepreneurs, and neurosurgeons taking a look at the future of brain science.

Nice Guy Strategies

My buddy Russ Edelman will be publishing his first book in July. Nice Guy Strategies is about "how to succeed without being an SOB—or a pushover...nice is not about being weak or soft—that you can hang on to your morals, compassion, and sincerity and still get ahead."

Ten Years Ago This Month: May 1998

I found these over the weekend - the view of our old apartment in Yokohama, Japan, and pictures from the Fujiya Hotel in Hakone - the first "western style" hotel in Japan.

Bakugan

Goodbye Webkinz - hello Bakugan!

This is the new trendy toy for Nicholas, Katie, and friends. Think Pokemon but with collectable figures instead of cards. The figures curl up into a ball that can be rolled but expand when they land on a Bakugan card.

Here are picts of Nicholas, Katie, and her friend Sidney role-playing Bakugan behind our house:

Return to El Salvador

Paul returned to El Salvador this year on a ten day trip with his church. Below are some pictures - a complete description of the trip can be found at the St. Mary's blog viewing the posts from May 10 to 20. In particular are posts about the volcano climb, road construction, and St. Mary's sister parish in San Bartolo.

The first set of photos show Paul on a road construction project. Without this road, the community of San Marcos can lose access to health care in the summer rainy season.

Paul and Ricardo

On Saturday, Paul and a few others in his group climbed Volcano Izalco, the youngest volcano in the world, located in the Parque Nacional Los Volcanes.

Where is Nicholas?

Dear Readers:

This past week my kindergarten class had a flower hunt outside my school. My teacher, Mrs. Morris, took some pictures. Can you find me in the pictures?
